Over the past 4 years, we've been shipping a better front sight for main match rifles. The average age of a participant in cowboy action shooting is over 55. As we get older, our lenses have a more difficult time in acquiring the 3 images in a sight picture: the rear sight, front sight and target. Even when young, we cannot focus on all three items at the same time, but we can switch quickly between target and sights. A larger front bead allows the shooter to focus more on the target with a slightly blurred sight picture. When "gold" is seen on "steel", the shooter can break the shot with a high confidence of a hit. And, when it gets down to it, confidence is the major determinant in a low stage time.
